In most local communities around the world, women suffer intense marginalization as they don’t share equal rights with the male folks. GHO is focused on reducing these inequalities by creating awareness programs that teach women and the community at large about women’s rights. Better yet, we’ve created such awareness programs in some local communities. But we wish to reach more places with the help of volunteers who will love to advocate about women’s rights.
These prospective advocates will be teaming up with other humanitarian volunteers who will be briefing them on some prior details. Asides from advocating for women’s rights, we’ll be teaching women how to avoid being sexually abused or physically abused. These awareness programs will be teaching women and girls how to be more security conscious during suspicious situations.
There will also be an education-based program that will be teaching women and girls the skills they can acquire to stay relevant in this economy. Your volunteer work will see the achievement of most of these goals. These goals include empowering women by helping them develop financial independence, foster their entrepreneurship skills, and build their leadership qualities.
In general, volunteering to assist women and girls in local communities can prove to be a significant experience for you as there will be a cross-cultural exchange. Plus, you will be meeting with different ideas and traditions that you never thought existed.
